In the wake of a tragic helicopter crash near Guptkashi on Sunday morning, the operations of Aryan Aviation for the Char Dham Yatra have been suspended with immediate effect, the Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed in a statement on Sunday. The incident has claimed the lives of seven people, including the pilot, sparking swift administrative action and a high-level investigation.
The ill-fated Bell 407 helicopter (Reg. VT-BKA), operated by Aryan Aviation, was carrying five passengers, an infant, and one crew member. It had taken off from Guptkashi at 5:10 am, reached Kedarnath by 5:18 am, and departed again at 5:19 am. The crash occurred near Gaurikund sometime between 5:30 and 5:45 am.
