BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar called the incident of the girl's death during TMC's election win celebration a "terrorist attack," and the party a "criminal syndicate in power".
A 13-year-old girl was killed in an explosion on Monday in Kaliganj during Trinamool Congress's bypoll victory rally. Following the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a scathing attack at the Mamata Banerjee-led ruling TMC, saying that the party cannot even win a bypoll without shedding blood. BJP also staged protests in Kolkata over the girl's death.
The girl, a class-4 student, was reportedly caught in an explosion as a bomb was hurled at a CPI (M) suporter's house during the bypoll victory celebration procession, even before the counting had ended. She later succumbed to her injuries.
