A massive demolition drive is being carried out in the slums of Delhi's Ashok Vihar-Wazirpur area amid massive police protection. Several "illegal" structures were demolished during the drive by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) excavators and diggers (also known as bulldozers or JCB machines in common parlance). The demolition is part of the Rekha Gupta government's anti-encroachment drive across the national capital.
