During the hour-and-a-half-long meeting, Prime Minister Modi gave the armed forces a free hand to take operational decisions, sources said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan on Tuesday.

The meeting, which comes in the wake of Pahalgam terror attacks, was also attended by the chiefs of the three services: Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Naval Staf Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Chief of Air Staff Amar Preet Singh.

During the hour-and-a-half-long meeting, Prime Minister Modi gave the armed forces a free hand to take operational decisions, sources said.
